A vertical wind tunnel blows air upwards fast enough to float a body. You fly in a padded glass chamber with an instructor holding your harness, and a first session usually comes down to a couple of short flights.

Paris flew in tunnels twice for the show: as part of the AFF skydiving course, where tunnel time builds body position before any jump, and during the Yas Island adrenaline challenge, at what the episode calls the world's biggest indoor wind tunnel.

Where to fly

Skydive Dubai runs Inflight Dubai, a tunnel it lists from AED 240 for skills training and describes as ideal for first-time flyers (published price, checked 30 Oct 2026). Abu Dhabi's tunnel sits on Yas Island, which pairs easily with the circuit and theme parks.

First-timer tips

  • Chin up, hips forward, relax your arms: tension makes you spin.
  • Learn the hand signals at the briefing; you cannot hear anything inside.
  • Empty your pockets and tie long hair back.

FAQ

Is indoor skydiving safe for beginners?

It is built for beginners: an instructor stays with you in the chamber and the air column is controlled.

Does tunnel time help with a real skydive?

Yes. Skydiving schools use it to teach body position, which is why it was part of Paris's AFF training.
