Deep Dive Dubai is an indoor dive pool built around a flooded "sunken city" of streets and apartments. You do not need to be certified for the introductory options.

What you can do (published on its site, checked 30 Oct 2026)

  • Scuba diving: age 10+, from AED 1,200.
  • Freediving: age 13+, from AED 900, on a single breath with no tanks.
  • Snorkelling: age 6+, from AED 400, looking down on the city from the surface.
  • Sunken City Walk: age 10+, AED 600, walking a 4 m sidewalk in a full-face mask with no swimming needed; one hour with 20 minutes underwater.
  • Specialised dives for certified divers: age 15+, from AED 1,500.

Guy's experience

Paris scuba dived the pool soon after it opened in 2021. We went down to about 25 metres. It's very much like cave diving, because you've got to look out above you and below you when you go in the rooms, and then you go through corridors and into other rooms. Down there: a pool table, a chess board (I won the game of chess), an exercise bike and a Mercedes. It sort of makes you feel like you're in some kind of lost city that has fallen below the sea. He has not freedived it yet, but says it would be amazing.

Pool or sea?

The pool is controlled and the same all year, which makes it good for a first breath underwater or for practice. The sea has life: for wrecks and fish, see diving in Dubai and the MV Dara wreck, which Paris dived. If the single-breath side appeals, read freediving in Dubai.
