Paramotoring is powered paragliding: a fabric wing overhead and a small motor in a backpack frame. The kit is compact enough to fit in a car, and the course in the episode describes the sport as statistically one of the safest ways to fly.

Learning, not just riding

Paris trained with Sky School UAE in Ras Al Khaimah towards the APPI PPG licence. Training starts on the ground: raising the wing, turning into wind and steering with toggles. Then towing, then the engine. The licence needs 15 flights; Paris did three in his first week.

Where people fly

Flat, open desert away from airspace restrictions. In the episode the team drove about 45 minutes into the desert from their base.

Prefer something else in the air? Try a hot air balloon or skydiving.
